1. The Short Version

We set only strictly necessary cookies — the ones without which you could not sign in or use the site. We do not use analytics, advertising, profiling or social-media cookies, and we do not share cookie data with anyone.

Because we set no non-essential cookies, no consent banner is required under regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. Rather than ask you to dismiss a banner that has nothing to consent to, we publish the full list below.

2. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your browser on a later request — for example, so that you stay signed in as you move between pages.

First-party cookie

Set by the site you are visiting — in this case translatemax.com. All of our cookies are first-party.

Third-party cookie

Set by a different domain, typically for advertising or cross-site analytics. We do not set any.

Strictly necessary cookie

Required to deliver a service you have explicitly requested, such as keeping you authenticated. These are exempt from the consent requirement.

All cookies are set with the HttpOnly and SameSite attributes where applicable, and with the Secure attribute in production, so they are transmitted only over encrypted connections and cannot be read by scripts.

4. What We Do Not Use

For the avoidance of doubt, this site does not use any of the following:

Analytics cookies of any kind.
Advertising, retargeting or conversion-tracking pixels of any kind.
Profiling or behavioural-tracking cookies of any kind.
Social-media embed cookies.
Cross-site or third-party tracking cookies.

If we ever introduce analytics or any other non-essential cookie, we will update this page and deploy a consent mechanism that obtains your agreement before those cookies are set. We will not add them silently.

5. Related Technologies

Two things are worth mentioning even though they are not cookies:

Local storage — your browser may retain interface preferences and unsaved quote-calculator input locally on your device. This never leaves your computer and is not transmitted to us.
Content delivery network — when you upload a PDF for word counting, your browser fetches the PDF-reading component from a third-party CDN. That request reveals your IP address and browser user-agent to the CDN, as any web request does. It sets no cookie, and the document itself never leaves your device.

6. Managing Cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser offers this under its privacy or security preferences.

Blocking our cookies will prevent you from signing in, placing an order or accessing your account, because they are the mechanism by which the site recognises you. There is nothing to gain privacy-wise by blocking them, since they carry no tracking data.
