Acceptable Use Policy

What we will and will not translate, and how we expect our platform to be used.

Ce document est publié en anglais. Toute traduction est fournie à titre indicatif uniquement ; en cas de divergence, la version anglaise prévaut.

1. Scope

This policy governs what you may submit to Pinkbrainlab Ltd (trading as TranslateMax) for translation, and how you may use our platform. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions, and applies to every user and every order.

We translate a great deal of sensitive material — legal filings, medical records, immigration paperwork, financial statements — and we do so willingly. This policy is not about the subject matter being difficult. It is about a narrow set of uses we will not support.

2

2. Documents We Will Not Translate

We will not produce a translation of a document we believe to be forged, falsified, or intended to deceive — and we will not produce a translation designed to make an accurate document say something it does not.

Specifically, we do not accept:

  • Forged, altered or fraudulently obtained identity documents — passports, national identity cards, driving licences, residence permits or visas.
  • Falsified academic credentials — degree certificates, transcripts, professional registrations or qualifications that were not genuinely awarded.
  • Fabricated financial documents — bank statements, payslips, tax returns, audited accounts or proof-of-funds letters created or altered to misrepresent someone's position.
  • Fabricated supporting evidence for an immigration, asylum, benefits, insurance or court application.
  • Any document where you ask us to translate it as saying something other than what it actually says, or to omit or soften material content.
  • Documents you do not have the right to possess or to have translated.

A certified translation from us is an attestation that the translation faithfully represents the source document. We will not attach that attestation to something we believe to be false. This protects you as much as it protects us: a translation obtained on a false basis is worthless to the authority you present it to, and exposes you to serious legal consequences.

We do not verify the authenticity of source documents as a routine matter, and we are not a document-verification service. This policy applies where we form a reasonable belief, not to material we had no way of assessing.

3. Content We Will Not Handle

We will not accept material that:

  • Depicts or sexualises children in any way. We report such material to the relevant authorities.
  • Is unlawful to possess or distribute in the United Kingdom.
  • Incites violence, terrorism, or hatred against a person or group on the basis of a protected characteristic.
  • Is designed to facilitate fraud — phishing content, fake invoices, scam scripts, fraudulent investment material or advance-fee solicitations.
  • Facilitates the evasion of sanctions, export controls or money-laundering rules.
  • Constitutes malware, exploit code, or instructions for compromising computer systems.
  • Infringes another party's copyright, trade mark or confidentiality where you have no right to have it translated.
  • Harasses, defames or threatens an identifiable individual.

Adult content between consenting adults, and material that is merely controversial, offensive or politically contentious, are not prohibited by this section. We may still decline work that individual linguists are unwilling to undertake.

4. Sanctions and Export Compliance

We comply with UK sanctions law and will not knowingly provide services to a sanctioned person or entity, or in support of a sanctioned activity.

We do not accept orders from, or billing addresses in: Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria. This restriction is enforced automatically at checkout.

You must not use our services to circumvent these restrictions, including by supplying a billing address in another territory. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of our services complies with the law of the country you are in.

5

5. Using the Platform

When using our website and account system, you must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server or system, or probe or scan our infrastructure for vulnerabilities without our written permission.
  • Scrape, crawl or harvest content or pricing data by automated means.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of any part of the platform.
  • Interfere with the service through denial-of-service traffic, or place load on it disproportionate to normal use.
  • Create accounts by automated means, or maintain multiple accounts to evade a suspension or obtain a benefit not intended for you.
  • Submit payment details you are not authorised to use.
  • Resell or represent our services as your own without a written reseller agreement.

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please report it to us at the address in section 8 rather than testing it further. We consider responsible, good-faith disclosure a constructive act and will take that into account in how we respond.

6. What Happens if This Policy Is Breached

Where we identify a breach, our response is proportionate to it. We may:

ResponseWhen we use itEffect on your money
Ask you for clarificationWhere something looks irregular but may have an innocent explanationOrder is paused; nothing is charged or refunded yet
Decline the orderWhere the material falls outside this policy but there is no evidence of deliberate misuseFull refund of everything paid for that order
Halt work in progressWhere a breach becomes apparent after work has begunRefund of the portion not yet performed
Suspend or close the accountRepeated breaches, or a single serious oneUnspent wallet credit is refunded to the original payment method
Report to the authoritiesWhere we are legally obliged to, or where the material is criminalNo refund where the breach was deliberate

We will normally tell you what we have decided and why. We may not be able to do so where telling you would prejudice an investigation or where the law prohibits it.

7. Reporting a Concern

If you believe our services are being misused, or that content we have handled breaches this policy, tell us at info@translatemax.com. Include as much detail as you can — an order number if you have one, and a description of the concern.

We review the reports we receive and act on them where appropriate. We will not disclose your identity to the party you are reporting unless we are legally required to.
